Hello everyone!
Following up on the discussions within the IUCN Youth Space and in collaboration with organizations like the Canadian Wildlife Federation (CWF) and TIGed, I wanted to initiate a conversation about the intersection of wildlife conservation and climate change.
As many of you are aware, climate change poses a significant threat to biodiversity globally. Shifting climate patterns, increased frequency of extreme weather events, and rising sea levels are impacting habitats and species distribution in profound ways.
I'm particularly interested in discussing the following questions:
* What are some of the most pressing climate-related threats facing wildlife in your region?
* What innovative strategies are you or your organizations implementing to mitigate the impacts of climate change on wildlife populations?
* How can young conservationists play a more active role in advocating for climate-resilient conservation policies?
* Are there successful examples of climate-smart conservation initiatives that can be replicated elsewhere?
* How can we best incorporate Indigenous knowledge into climate change and wildlife conservation efforts?
Looking forward to hearing your thoughts and insights! Let's work together to build a more sustainable future for wildlife in a changing climate.
