Each participant wears red high heels to walk a mile route through campus to raise awareness for sexual assault.聽Proceeds from entry fees and donations are going to Hope Harbor, a local organization that supports and empowers anyone impacted by sexual trauma.聽The foot pain they just briefly experience is supposed to remind them of how a survivor of sexual violence deals with vivid memories or suffering for the rest of their life.聽After it was cancelled twice this spring, they were happy to finally have the event today.聽 This year it means a lot more with everything going around campus. We look forward to doing it, weve been putting in a lot of work in the last 3 months and due to weather and logistical reasons it was cancelled.
